Quizzes
May 23, 2009 on 9:24 am | In Internet | 13 CommentsThe hundreds of look-a-like facebook quizzes that are endlessly there on the news feed are driving me insane with a net weight of pages and pages of complete drivel. Which wife of Henry VIII are you?
I mean seriously. Who has all the spare time to think up these ever-more-inane wastes of bandwidth??

I would utterly have agreed with you.
Then I discovered I was most like a Riemann zeta function. Suddenly the world had more meaning to it. *sigh*

Oh, facebook is full of drivel generally and yet I still sign in. I quite like quizze (though I never take them myself) especially ones like ‘which molecule/element are you?”

Maybe some people are paid to do that – wouldn’t be hard to think of topics if money is involved…

Are you a potato?
Comment by Lucy — May 23, 2009 #
I like to think I@m more like a parsnip, myself. Which vegetable are you?
Comment by Jenny — May 24, 2009 #
I may or may not be a potato.

I think that is a perfect suggestion for Callan’s blog, Lucy, shame it’s more than six words, though…
I think I like them because they extract ridiculous analogies from things that can’t really be compared. And that’s always fun to do.
“You are water. You are able to perform strong, so called “hydrogen bonds” with other like minded people. You are naturally pure and live life as clean as possible. You are represented as “Normal”.
Also, they’re uncannily accurate ;)

Oh, and I would like to be chicory/witlof. A white leaf vegetable with a slightly bitter taste. And a funky name.
But it turns out I am 50% pea, bouncy and lively! 20% carrot, sweet and kind, and 30% onion, very emotional. You just couldn’t make this stuff up.
Disclaimer: you may not like the vegetable you turn out to be.

How are carrots ’sweet and kind?’ or onions ‘emotional’? Dear oh dear. Is this a real quiz? I shall have to do it.
Meanwhile, the potato line is very funny, so I could just stretch the word limit so callan can go down as ‘may or may not be a potato’. Or ‘may/may not be a potato’ which fits, yes?
I like all vegetables, so I am bound to like whatever I go down as…

Or maybe Lucy intended that as her mousetag? Cross-blogreferincing ftw!
I googled “which vegetable are you” and took a couple…
You’re a potato!
Just to clarify, we don’t mean that in a “couch potato” way. We see potatoes as full of possibilities. Think about it — they’re great all year round, in potato salad, as mashed potatoes, as French fries… the list goes on. You’re always willing to try new things, but at the same time, you’re very reliable. As vegetables go, you seem like you’d make a great best friend.
Like I said, uncannily accurate.
And, of course I should be revising.

I didn’t mean that as my mouse-tag, but now you mention it…
